Does anyone here have a sun roof? I want to get one in my regular cab, but I have been told by a salesman at a place that sells them that they will start to leak within a year.

If PROPERLY installed,a sunroof will not leak.when i do them at work,i cut out the template on the roof, then re install the headlinerand cut it out from the top.our trucks have double wall roofs with about an inch or so space between the inner and outer so be sure and get a sunroof with a deep enough ring to compensate for that.when i put the glass/frame assembly in,i run a small bead of windshield urethane and apply pressure all around the frame so it seals, then screw the interior trim ring on.be sure to prime the sunroof frame where the urethane goes as well as the roof of the truck where the urethane goes with the paint primer specified for the urethane and try not to make too big of a bead or it will seep out and is very messy.good luck

i had one installed in my truck(16x32 or 34") when i was 17. took it out a few months ago when i stripped the truck. so 3 years and it never leaked. i loved it.

Thanks for the replies. Have you had trouble with the seal around the actual glass? I don't know how much I will even open mine, but I would like the ability to open it and to have the extra window.

Thats what I thought. I couldn't believe they didn't start tryin to sell me one when I mentioned it. Then they told me they would install them, but didn't recommend them.
