Hey all I just found a GREAT deal on the web... Commando RS-560 Car Alarm, Remote Starter, Keyless Entry Combo Unit. Has anyone tried one? The price is only $80!

I don't know for sure, but you may get what you pay for. It may be junk, but it could also be a great setup. Good Luck.

never heard of them...try brands such as autopage, viper, dei...

an msrp can be set to whatever the manufacturer desires...so even if they tell you the msrp is 250 doesn't mean it's a good alarm/product

exactly, MSRP stands for Manufaturer's Suggested Retail Price. They aren't going to lowball their own product.

Both my brother and I have Commando FM-870 alarm, remote start, ketless entry on our vehicles. He has a jeep and I have what's in my sig. They work very well and weren't too hard to hook up. I have to find the tach wire for my truck though. Right now It runs the starter on a timer, and sometimes it cranks the starter for too long, other times not long enough. I couldn't find the wire that it said it needed for the tach. Anyway, sometime I'll hook it to the proper connection.

Other than that all of the features work great. It has a valet mode that allows you too disable everything bu the keyless entry. If you have any other questions i'll try to answer them for you the best i can.

Hey that sounds great! Did you get it on their web site? That is where i would be getting it from if i do get one. How much did you pay for it? would i need any other hardware? There is no alarm on the truck right now. So do you recomend one for the $80 price? the one that i would get though is model #560 i think but the one you have sounds just like it.

I would stick to DEI (Viper, Clifford) or Compustart.....

The FM-870 is a 2-way pager (basically the pager tells you when your alarm goes off) I paid what they have advertised on thier website. Give commando a call on what other things you'd need specifically. I think you might need two relays to make the keyless entry function work. They also have wiring diagrams that tell you what color wires your looking for. The diagrams are only available to commando customers though. The alarm function is a very good from what I've seen so far. In all actuality it might be a little too sensitive for my liking (hard hitting audio bass and trucks using there jake brake are enough to set the "warn" ( and sometimes the full alaram) mode off on the alarm. You can adjust the sentivity of the alarm through the sensor though.

They are very helpful when you talk to them on the phone.
