Looks cool. One thing I noticed is the mounting kit is black. It would be cool if you could color match it.
Question how did you do the raised flames??

Thanks for the comments.....yea I made it myself. I am not too happy some of the stuff so I think that i might rebuild it...for the 4th time:tongue: . I might have to paint the mounting kit to match too ...it does look out of place now that you mention it.
to make the flames I know that most people use foam but I wanted a more solid defined look so i found some old place mat things ---the kind that go under your plates on the diner table and cut them up and glued them in place then glued the fabric over it.
any more questions just ask.....

Good Idea. I was trying to come up with something better than foam myself. I amy have to try that.

I went to the local fabric store with my girlfriend so i wouldnt feel too stupid and after 3 tries found some fabric in the correct color. Not sure what it was ..kinda like a normal t shirt fabric only a little thinner.
The seams were kinda hard and I am not really happy with how they turned out and its one of the main reasons i will be redoing it next winter. What I did was glued the flames and fabric on the sides and then took the place mat material stuff and wraped the flames and material around that ...then glued it to the top. I wasnt sure of any other way to do it......
Not sure if anyone can understand it but I will get more pics if you would like.

I guess the inside was kind of a waste considering that hardy anyone would ever notice it but it was just a little custom touch i guess. It is actually my favorite part.
I used 3M general trim adhesive...........about $8 at walmart.
well what i did was sprayed the wood/bondo with the adhesive then layed out the flames that i cut out on top of that. Then sprayed the entire thing with more glue and layed down the fabric. ....smoothed it out and let it dry. I was careful to not put too much but in a few spots it leaked through a little bit.
I really had some fun designing and building it. I guess that why I am planning out another one.
If you would like a detailed list of steps that I took just let me know and I will type them out later when I get a chance...no problem
