Is there a "easy" way to replace the bulbs inside the stock radio. The light bulb for the 3/6 buttons on my 97. It looks like crap, but I don't have the funds for a new radio. Thanks

Thanks 1 Clean 91' 07-10-2005, 03:26 PM I've tried taking one apart and I couldn't figure it out without causing major damage to the unit... However, the HVAC is easy (not that that's any consolation to your problem). I would also be very interested in learning the proper way to get in there if any one knows :cheer: 97K2500HD 07-12-2005, 05:32 PM I had the same problem in my '97. The bulbs are soldered on to a board in the radio. And, you have to completely take the thing apart to get at them. If you are handy with a screwdriver and comfortable with a soldering iron, Radio Shack p/n 272-1154 works great. I replaced the 4 burned out bulbs on my radio and proactively replaced the 6 other ones. I cleaned out the stock of 4 Radio Shack's in the process... And FWIW... Just this past week I had a bulb go out in my 4x4 switch. Sure enough, it was the same tiny bulb soldered on a circuit board. vBulletin® v3.8.2, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
