View Full Version : My Seat Controls are backwards

I have an 03 Z71 Suburban and just started to have problems with the seat controls. I first noticed it when I was almost crushed between the seat and dash when I shut off the key last night. I have the easy out seat feature turned on so that when I take the key out the seat automatically drops and slides all the way back(it normally does anyway).
After this started to happen I noticed that my seat control is backwards. The function that moves the seat forward and back is reversed.
This all happened last night. It worked fine before my kids soccer game and it was reversed after the game.
Anyone have any history on this. I called the service guy at the dealer and of course he wants me to bring it in. I am out of warranty so I know it will cost a fortune if I have to do that.

I would recommend taking it to the Chevy dealer (or any GM dealership that you are comfortable with ~ most of them work on all GM vehicles) to have them check it out. They have the history and they should be able to give you a quote on fixing it before spending any money. It's probably less expensive than you think.
FYI ~ GM is known for crapy electronics, but I always come back... (Masochism?? :eyecrzy: )

Some customers may state that the Power Seat Switch will work in the opposite direction.

They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
