I have a 1989 suburban w/ power windows. Both front windows are very low powered, and slow. I often have to aid them in going up all the way. I have tried greasing the mechanism, and have the same problem. The problem is also climate sensitive. when it is cold they work fine, but when it is hot, I don't even try to roll them down as they won't hardly move at all, and you can see where this becomes a problem when it is hot outside, and I can't roll down the windows!! Could the motors be going out? I have tried cleaning the ground wires with no luck. Is there an upgrade for the motors that is available, or a better set of motors that I could install? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

With all good things comes breakdowns, your motors are probably dying. Try a spal window kit or dealer kit.

I haven't taken apart the door in the 'hoe yet, but if the window regulators are like the ones in the F body, then there is a thermal resistor that shuts off the window motor if it (the resisitor) gets too hot. Some cats on camaroz28 were bypassing the resisitor with good results, but this removes the stop protection in case someone (kids) get in the way of the window as its rolling up. Here's the thread explaining the fix:

Hope this helps.
