Joe 07-15-2005, 11:25 AM Be leary buying used seat belts. If they have already been involved in an accident you may have problems. Mattman24 07-15-2005, 11:41 AM take them out and use some black dye on them... where can i get some dye?? LS6TT 07-15-2005, 12:06 PM There is dye called RIT ( i think) at any grocery store. I tryed it on my maroon belts, but it didnt work, I didnt clean the belts good enough. Make sure you scrub the belts like nobodys buisness make sure they are clean and then follow the directoons on the box good luck 99-2door 07-15-2005, 12:52 PM You could get a set of the charcoal gray ones. They are pretty dark. PITA to remove from those seats though. addiction2bass 07-15-2005, 04:02 PM i bought a set of rear belts from a extended cab that are dark grey. i thought they would fit my truck BUT they are the oposite of a OBS seat belts working in the wrong direction :( SUCKS!!!!!!! no middle belts only the side retractors.... ya want them? 35shiped since i cannt use em :( 99silveradoguy 07-15-2005, 04:23 PM if you dye them you really gotta scrub them good , seatbelts have a protective coating on them that dye wont go through to good. dapolice1 07-15-2005, 07:12 PM Alos be carefull of the DYE.. My sisters took dancing growing up and I recall that the RIT has a tendency to RUN. That means when you and your girl are on a special date in your nice white shirt and her new "x" colored dress.... Just be carefull that you allow it to cure and remove any excess. I would think the heat might cause this too. Maybe the new stuff is improved, but I am really trying to avoid it in my BLACk interrior swap. Mattman24 07-15-2005, 07:13 PM well ill think bout using the dye thanks 99silveradoguy 07-16-2005, 12:04 AM Alos be carefull of the DYE.. He said they worked pretty good. Just IM him on this and ask him about it. I am thinking of using that on mine soon. Tahoe 400 07-16-2005, 02:11 AM You can try using dupli color's vinyl and fabric spray. You can get that at wal-mart, i know it works well on flexiable plastics and cloth. I've never tried it on seatbelts but it should work since it soaks into the material. But i would get a seatbelt from the junk yard and test it first. cxpcman 07-17-2005, 04:52 AM well i bought like 25 feets of seatbelt fabric for like 15 bux in a local upholstery supplier . it's really strong and looks great. you just need to put the serial number and caution sign again .. 99Z71Hoe 07-17-2005, 06:35 AM quadracr used SEm plastic/vinyl color spray on his. I am going to try RIT or some other type of fabric dye that you would soak the piece in. I would really like to find someone that can re-do the entire piece in black seatbelt material though. He actually even dyed his back seat and carpet with the SEM color spray. I asked him the other day how it is still holding out, and he said it is doing good. Seriously just IM him for questions vBulletin® v3.8.2, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
