Woohoo! I got my seats in!

I finally got my seats in. :rocking: They are out of a 98 cadillac catera. I still have to wire the power and heat, clean up the frames, and get the headrests dyed, but I'm excited. Now my butt and back won't be hurting as much on the 7 hour drive to school. :thumbup:

Nice seats. I would check into somehow moding some factory chevy seat risers to fit.

I think I'm going to put some kind of cover over the bottom to make it look better.

Did you dye the seats black? Maybe I could dye them maroon. Probably wouldn't turn out too good though. Your seats look really comfortable and like they would hold you in well.

Nope, thats the way I got them and they are a dark charcoal so they actually match my grey intrior pretty well. One thing you could do is just dye part of the seat red, like maybe the middle or something, and it would cut down on cost and it would look really cool.

I'm not sure about the headrests, I'm assuming they are from a catera cause they fit fine. :dunno:

I thought about doin a red and black combo as well. Would the red dye over the black and look good? It seems like it wouldn't go over black well. I might be able to get tan ones though.

Those are tall side bolsters, that is one reason I want them. The look really comfortable and like they hold you in well on hard turns and stuff.

Hmmm... thats interesting, I looked on ebay and the catera seats don't look like mine. Though, from what I can tell the rails are similar, the headrests are the same, the airbag and lumbar control on the sides are the same and the map pocket on the backs are the same, but the seat itself is totally different. All I was told was they came from a 98 catera. Strange. :think:

Youd have to dye the outside red and leave the center tan.

Do you have the Maroon interior? Thats what mine is and I want to ditch my bench for some buckets.

I found them on ebay, but I was not able to bid on them because I was on vacation and forgot. Nobody bid on them so I sent an email to the guy and I got them for $180 plus $92 in shipping. By the way, DHL has awesome shipping prices! UPS wanted $117 per seat and DHL only wanted $46.

180 is cheap for those. I found some Catera seats that looked nothin like yours and they were more.

I also found some sweet vette seats, tan leather, only 2500 bucks.
Found 99 vette seats at 500.

I made the covers out of the plastic thing that was behind the seat, the thing that holds the tire jack and stuff.

I got the center console off ebay for $25 and it was local so I didn't have to pay their stupid $80 shipping. It was originally tan but I used some charcoal grey plasti-kote vinyl color, it matches the stock color great.

Now I just need to get the headrests dyed. :banghead:

and GM wants INSAIN $$ for just it!
your beter off buying a whole console that comes with it. then keep the main console for a back up ;)
tho im just gonna build my own middle console eventualy. main thing that sucks with these consoles is they dont have a freaken lock on them! :( so thiers realy no way to lock up anything valuable like if you drop your truck off at a shop or something. :(

I broke my cupholder and, since I fixed it, it doesn't seem quite right. I asked the dealership about it and I can't believe how much they can charge for two pieces of plastic that snap together. ckresto.com has them, but they're still not cheap there plus I'd have to pay shipping. I guess I'll take the cupholder apart and see if I can get it together better.
