Can someone tell me how difficult it is to instal a escalade shifter in a 2001 Chevy Silverado?

from what I have heard, it is not hard, but it is a pain. If that makes sense. i guess the plug for the tow/haul button is buried way under the dash or something.

It is a real pain in the arse. The best way to do it is to remove the steering colum cover, use small screwdriver and gently pry in the center, and then you will have to cut two zip ties that are holding the wires on, left side only. Then use long needle nose and pull the end of the tow/haul wire thru the center. It can be done, just take your time and don't forget to put the rubber boot on BEFORE you pull the wire thru. I forgot to and had to start from scratch.
