air bag panel? please look!

hey guys im sanding all the interior in my truck and i have a question about the air bag. i have a 99 and i was wondering how to take that panel off? should i just turn the air bag off and pop it out or what?

You need to disconnect the battery and there is an airbag sensor lead under your seat. You also need to disconnect it there.

so i cant just turn the key to off for the air bag? i have to disconnect stuff?

turn airbag switch off, drop glovebox, disconnect connector with yellow wires, there are two small bolts on bottom, you have to remove top of dash to get too two bolts on top

to remove upper trim pad, set parking brake, shift into low 1, tilt wheel all the way down, take off bevel trim around gauges, grab with hand and firmly pull towards you, do the same for the window pillar trim on both sides, both lower side panels on ends that face doors, and the vents on both sides of air bag, reach into vents and press tabs to release assist handle, remove bolts from top panel, lift up, and disconnect connector to ambient light sensor in middle front of dash pad, and remove pad, install in reverse order
