On my 03 silverado, will the digital a/c controller thingamabob from the same year work in place of my stock lever one? I think the digital looks nice plus I found one for $25 (I love eBay).

Atomic 09-10-2005, 04:29 PM What would it take for it to work? AndrewGS 09-11-2005, 03:01 PM What would it take for it to work? You'd have to put the rest of the C68 system in, like the harness, controller (under dash unit), temp. sensor, etc.. 1 Clean 91' 09-11-2005, 05:39 PM You'd have to put the rest of the C68 system in, like the harness, controller (under dash unit), temp. sensor, etc.. :word: I wish it was as easy as changing out the head unit. I ended up reselling it and made a few $$. Yep. What sucks is it's only a $195 MSRP option on LS Silverados and SLS Sierras, but dealers just don't order it. After having auto. A/C on my Buick I would've gladly paid the $195. kmagnuss 09-13-2005, 05:29 PM I received the unit in the mail today and it is so close to working it sucks. There are two plugs that go into the back...one fits and one doesn't. After it's plugged in, it looks like it should work. It lights up, the controls seem to work on the screen, the 'flaps' for the air direction work, even the a/c compressor will kick on...but there is no fan. Blah. I think I might try to find a plug and jimmy rig it. We'll see. tenbase 09-13-2005, 05:42 PM Yep. I don't think it's available on regular cabs anyway. Kinda silly, as it's obvious just from reading these forums people will pay for loaded regular cabs. This is on my list of projects to do someday as well. 1 Clean 91' 09-14-2005, 04:30 PM how hard would it be to make it work in an 02Same answer: "You'd have to put the rest of the C68 system in, like the harness, controller (under dash unit), temp. sensor, etc.." Get that other plug and see where it goes. This is on my list of projects to do someday as well. You’ll need more than the wiring harness, you’re going to need the entire under dash system and probably the ducting. As you are probably aware, the dual climate system is going to monitor the left and right side vents separately, according to what temperature you select. There are many different components to the dual climate as to the standard HVAC system. You need the entire unit. kmagnuss 09-14-2005, 04:52 PM my 03 has the dual climate in it. AndrewGS 09-18-2005, 02:30 PM BTW, if anyone trys to get all of the parts or wants to order a new truck with it the option code is CJ2, not C68. The old RPO for automatic climate control like in my Buick is C68. Just thought I'd correct that little detail. vBulletin® v3.8.2, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
