how hard would it be to put a 96' dash into my 90? i cant stand the gauges in mine and the boxiness, and i have access to a 96 one. is it direct bolt in?, minus rerouting of wires of course, and adding a tach signal to it....anyone ever do it? or have a write up on it?
thanks

Do a search, there should be something in the tech area. A few people have tried this. Not cheap!

I contemplated doing the same thing a while back on my 88, but after doing the recearch at junk yards and looking at the chilton manual, it appears the entire electrical system would need to be replaced from front to back, as would the air conditioning vents and numerous other things. It can be done, but I think it is an easy task. Just changing the cluster to a cluster with a tach is a big pain...
Good luck anyways! lemme know how it turns out if you do!

i think there may be a tech article on it. i know there is a thread that has the info. It is very time consuming ... the bulk of it doing the wiring.

If you don't want the boxy look, you're going to have to change to a 95-up dashboard too.
If you just want a tach, you can use a 92-up cluster w/tach and all you gotta do is add a DRAC and the proper wiring harness end, some very minor hacking, tech article is on this site.
