Anyone know of somewhere that has a good selection of momentary, normaly-open foot switches? I need one for my train horn. I would prefer some place I could drive to like best buy or something since I want it before the weekend but if some place online has a nice one, then well yea.

I am looking for such an item as well...I want to install it where I plant my left foot to brace for a possible crash/avoidance manauver. I was thinking about adapting a sewing machine pedal? Or what about rigging a factory GM fullsize truck clutch pedal to trip a horn switch/ground?
I have yet to find anything on the net for sale, that wouldn't require modification, how bout you?

I couldnt really find anything for automotive purpose. Closest thing I could find was a footswitch for a wheelchair for handicap people.
I think Ill just mount a pushbutton on the left sider under the dash so I could hit it with my knee if need be. I was going to put it in the center next to the AC controls on an empty thing, but then I realized I didnt want any passengers hitting it.

Coulnd't you use a hibeam switch, those are NO, the floor mounted ones for the older trucks, just look in a chevyduty rag or LMC, that should work.

Fords have them too up into the 90s.
But, the thing with that is when he hits it it will stay on untill he hits it again. Wont it?

I believe it will. My friend had an early 90's Ford F150. Had to hit it once for th highs, hit it again to turn them off.

Some old cars ('50s) had a foot operated starter switch.
