rear view mirror removal

anyone ever install an aftermarket rear view mirror, & had to remove the old mount? i tried with a razor knife & chipped the glass. i glued the mirror up over the chip & it isn't sticking. i called about a new windshield but they all come w/ the RVM mount already atteched.

anyone know a better way to get the mount off?

Oh, that is a tough one. I have not had any success pulling off the mounting block. They would just fall off when you did not want them to.

:word: Mine removes itself everytime I take the headliner out or have no time to glue it back up. :lol:

Id try puttin the mirror back on and hitting it a few time by the mount. Miune took a shot from the headliner before and it fell so. :dunno:

Yeah you have to be very careful when removing the mounting plate for the mirror. I chipped a windsheild once too.
