Hey guys,
Doing the new style door panel swap - I have a 1988 and I have some panels from a 95 or 96, and I am in DIRE NEED of a wiring schematic for this because I have NO IDEA what wire goes to where... there is about 14 wires on the new door panels and they are all different colors from mine and I do not have all 14. If someone has a walkthrough PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! Thank you very much I greatly appreciate any help!!!

Hey man good luck! I tried for two days looking at the wiring schematics on both power and window locks for the 88-94 and the 95-98 trucks, and came up with nothing.. I did a lot of trial and error with wires but never worked.. SO I gave up..
I got the wiring schematics if you need them .. One of the guys in this forum was kind enough to give them to me..
What I did was run my original controls from the drivers side( since it controls both windows and lock) and ran them through the bottom of my driver seat and into my console (tahoe console) which I had to purchase after I came up with this idea..
I just left them hanging in there last night cause I was too tired to finish( where the cup holders are supposed to be in..
As to the rest of the wiring I only cut out the double speaker wire and the accent light ( from ther 95-98 wire harness)wire from the door and ran them through the door to the kick panel..
To make long story short, I have my original controls located in center console, I left the 95-98 controls attached to its door panels but will shave those control panels later to smooth that out. It looks ver nice..
Will provide pics tonight!!

Thanks, I am really wanting the new controls though...
I got the drivers side window to work, havent hooked up the pass side yet so I am unsure if it works but the drivers side definitely does. All I need is the power door locks, and I am set, but this is getting tough...

Do you have the wires that come out of the 88 matching to the 95 wires? That is exatly what I really really need

Thanks man.. I already have those ones. The only thing confusing me is the yellow wire and the black striped ones coming from my truck. There is 2 black with white stripe, one with orange stripe, and i have no idea what they all mean.

I have a Haynes manual but it says typical power door locks system... which helps me none as all of the colors are different, so good job on their part. I basically need to know what all of the wires coming in my door that are from the 88 do and then what all of the wires coming from the 95 door panel do and then match those wires up.

If you got the matching wires working , then send me those colors and maybe I can experiment with the remainder wires which should somhow power up the locks.. REmemver two heads are better than one.. Post them up here.. Ill try to figure out something..

I basically hooked up the wires that dirty nd gave us in your other post, so hook those up and then your windows should work. the locks are not working with this setup though...

I'm not too sure yet, they need a little bit of work but I probably won't sell them, I have a buddy who will get them if I do decide to though..

Thanks man.. I already have those ones. The only thing confusing me is the yellow wire and the black striped ones coming from my truck. There is 2 black with white stripe, one with orange stripe, and i have no idea what they all mean. The yellow wire should have a split in it. One goes to the left power window switch the other goes to the right power switch. The only blacks I see on the diagrams are for the door switch lights?

I have looked over these diagram a couple of time and it seems to me that it's just a matter of connecting the same color wires. Am I missing something that is making it harder or are the colors not matching up?

I'll right I'm trying to make sure I have this right. The one below is from the 88 side of the wiring and you are trying to put the 95 pigtails on to it.

Now I have questions. Did either the doors you got or your truck have power windows? On the 95 doors did you eliminate the wires that go to the speaker and light on the panel like I suggested before?
Another suggestion. Find the wires that go to your door locks, ground one and put a known good power source to to the other one.(there might be three wires) I say this because the wires might have been hooked up correctly, but the solenoid might be bad. They did come from a junkyard after all.

Yes, every panel I am working with has power windows and locks, the 88 and the 95. We hooked up the solenoids and they seem to work, so there is something fishy.

Have you checked the switches yet?

Yeah they seem to work fine on my brothers 97. There has to be a missing link in the wiring if I had both diagrams exactly from each truck I could figure it out but I dont, this is getting so frustrating
