first of all, welcome to fsc.

spaces, paragraphs and spelling will help greatly:cool:

to answer your questions....

you can do a dash swap from the box style 88-94 to a 95-98(99), but it will require alot of rewiring. same with the doorpanels.

pretty much everything from 88-98(and the 99 obs) is interchangable with each other with exceptions.

Hi, I'm kind of new here too but I have good info for you.

I did a dash swap on my 90. The door panels are not exactly a direct swap, the inner door skin needs to be replaced with the newer style also, your regulator will fit directly onto the new one. The door is not notched out perfectly for the new inner skin but it does not look bad at all if you just tighten eveything down.

The dashboard fits right in. I used my old steering column because I could not figure out how to put the new one in. If you use the old column you will need to trim the gauge bezel slightly to clear and you will have a big hole that needs to be fiberglassed up or it can be left the way it is. I used a custom nordskog gauge panel instead of trying to swap to the new style gauges. I have not mounted my ac yet but it looks like it will fit in the compartment below the new ac spot pretty nicely. (don't know what i'm gonna use the new ac spot for)

If anyone can tell me how to hook up the newer ac controls and/or the steering column, that would be very much appreciated. Until that gets done I have an uncompleted job but my interior looks way cooler than before.

When looking for a dashboard go for a 95-96 if you are not going to put a tv in the passengers side, or get a 97-98 if you are going to use the air bag spot for a tv.

If you are interested in changing your interior color this is definitley the time to do it. I was going with black and then decided to go with a very light grey to match the seats I got.

I forgot to mention about my wiring problems. I currently have my old fuse block hanging down by my brake pedal. I am going to try to swap over to the new fuse block so I can use the hole that is on the side of the dash to access my fuses. I plan on just cuting them one wire at a time and connecting them.

I also forgot to mention what I did for my power windows, the power window regulator fits right in the place of a manual regulator. I had an aftermarket power window kit and I used the aftermarket switches to control the windows. I used manual door panels so I would not have to be forced to use the factory switches. This will also be a great idea for your door panels unless you can figure out the wiring difference between your switches and the new style. I didn't deal with any wiring I didn't have to, this kept it very simple for me to hook eveything up.

The only wiring that I wish I know how to do is the steering column and the ac controls. Steering columns cost about 200 bucks at a junk yard, that is why I have not tried to convert over plus I could still drive my dd truck at every stage of dash and door panel removal and installation.

Hope all this info helps you out.
