Can anyone tell me if my 94 Silverado Z71 4X4 extended cab has lights in the door window and lock controls.?. Only had it for a couple of months and they have never lit up. Better ask before I pull doors apart.
Thanks

Nope. The lit up window and lock switches started in '95.

Correct. But for anyone else searching threads, if it were a Suburban or crew cab with the switches mounted in the arm rest, they DO light up. Very dim, but they do. I had a hell of an argument with my dad about this until I proved it to him on my 94 Suburban.

Yeah, I was thinking the SUVs and crew cabs might light up, that's why I didn't really specify. Glad to know I was right in my thinking.

Well, the 2 door SUV's won't because they use the same switch setup the non-crewcab trucks have. The reason for the different armrest in the crewcab and Suburban is because there's no way the other style switch assembly could be modded to house all 4 window switches along with the door lock switches. Oh, and of course the power mirror control is on there, too.

I could swear that the '92-'94 Blazers and Yukons (2-door) had the same door panels as the Suburbans and crew cabs, giving them the same switches minus 2. I could be wrong, but I swear I've seen them.

Yeah, here you go. This is a '92 Yukon on eBay.

The 94 full size blazers, two doors, have passenger window controls that light up. they are very dim though. The drivers side has feeler bars on the buttons, as you really shouldn't be looking down for them while you're driving.

If you want a picture for proof I'll get one

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think you get that style of switches unless you have power mirrors, too. It gets kinda confusing with the 2 doors, I guess.

Unless it's a base model like what game wardens and border patrol would have, it should have power mirrors.
