there is a little c clip around the rod which has to come off, i think there is a tool for this, but if you have a small flat screwdriver that will work. when you pop it out be careful its small and you could loose it. there is a couple threads on removing door panels with window cranks in the tech articles section, that may help.

yup, jsut about any auto part store should carry a window crank removal tool. under 10.00

usually, you will want to slide the tool behind the handle and the clip will pop off while you wiggle the handle . in other words. if the little part that your hand holds is at the 12 o clock position, you will force the tool down behind the handle from 12 o clock to 6 o clock. straight down. does that make sense?

I have used a screw driver to remove the clip in the past.
