The cable is broke on my 2000 Silverado's power window. I'm sure others have had theirs break. How hard is it to replace? I see motor and cable assembly on E-bag, replace both?

I'm sure others have had theirs break. How hard is it to replace? I see motor and cable assembly on E-bag, replace both? It's actually easy to replace. I replaced mine in about 30 minutes or so. If you're in the Houston area I could give you a hand. JB 03-24-2006, 08:15 AM Mine went out on the pass side of my 2000. I have big arms and hands so it wasnt easy for me, I remember one bolt near the back giving me 9 kinds of hell and my wife trying to hold up the glass while installing it, but I got it done none-the-less  FlashJim 03-24-2006, 08:57 AM To hold it up I wrapped tape from one side of the glass, over the top of the door to the other side of the glass. JB 03-24-2006, 09:04 AM I wish I knew you when I did mine :D Scrufdog 03-24-2006, 09:35 AM To hold it up I wrapped tape from one side of the glass, over the top of the door to the other side of the glass. I've done the same, works like a charm grifftrio 03-25-2006, 06:16 PM Should I get the motor and assembly or just the cable assembly? Thanks dabflyboy 03-26-2006, 05:45 PM Should I get the motor and assembly or just the cable assembly? Thanks i would get both. the motors die pretty easily on NBS trucks for some reason. im surprised your cable broke before the actual motor died to tell you the truth. replace both and just be done with it FrostBite 03-26-2006, 06:27 PM I dont know if this is the same problem, but on my 2000 the passenger side window will roll about half way up, then start to slow down to a crawl, and then once it gets past a certain point it speeds back up. If the truck is off, the window wont roll all the way up, it just slows to a stop. Is this the same problem.
