Pull the carpet, throw out the underlay and put some new underlay in, pressure wash your carpet and reinstall. Headliner foam is bad for holding the smell of smokes, cigars and doobies.

maybe try some "febreeze" or what ever its called. seems to work good on a lot of things. i think i would try spraying some of that stuff before ripping out my interior. pine tree air fresheners work pretty good too. i prefer "new car".

I had a '90 Silverado RCSS and it literally smelled like sex & incense because the guy I bought it from burned that crap in the ash tray and did his g/f daily in it which was kinda gross. It was so bad that a couple hours after getting out of the truck, you still had the smelling sensation of it. I sprayed febreeze, used an air freshner and cleaned the heck out of the seat and carpet and it did nothing so I said screw it and sold the danged thing:bash: . The guy I sold it to lost most of his sense of smell which is great for him. But right now is the best time to get rid of vehichle stinches before the hot summer heat makes it worse.

I seriously couldn't stand riding around in the that thing. It was a fun truck tho. It had a 5 speed with a 350 so it was pretty quick and was also a 4wd. I'll find anoter one that doesn't stink.

Baking Soda.
Sprinkle it around and let it sit in your carpet. Then vacuum it up. If you rip out your interior, put the baking soda on the new underlay.

It could be that in the summer when you run the A/C then shut it off the water that is left on you condenser builds up mold and that is how you get your musty smell later. GM makes a kit or they will want to do it for you, that cleans out the mold. I will post the GM part number later. After it is cleaned the trick is to turn your A/C off and run the fan full blaster a little bit, just to dry out the condenser.
