Hi gang,

My 99 NBS ECSB driver's seat slides freely back and forth and will not latch. I found a plastic piece with a metal lever attatched in the inboard seat track.

This occurred after I flipped the "entry" lever to get something behind the drivers seat. When I put the seat back to it's original position, it would not latch into the track.

Do I have to replace the entire track assembly? (Manual) of can I buy the individual pieces to fix it?

TIA,

Rob

The Only Way I Know To Get Any Pieces For The Adjust Is To Get The Entire Track (adjuster Assembly), I Work At A Chevy Dealer, Im Pretty Sure Thats The Only Way. Theres The Adjuster, The Seat Bottom Frame, The Seat Back Frame. Then You Can Get Cables, Handles, The Recliner Assemblies (inboard And Outboard). All The Little Pieces For The Track Come With A New Adjsuter.

Thanks mikeyman... my parts guy told me the same... I was hoping there would be something aftermarket as a replacement part... damn POS...

Looks like I'll be installing the 2002 Power seats I bought sooner than I thought.

If you have a bit of skills I have a power seat track you can thow in there. It is a direct swap in. All you'll need is the switches and some wireing.

FYI, I only need the drivers side... and 6 way, correct? (Only the base moves by power, not the seatback)

BTW, I did not get your email yet.

Thanks for the reply.

I had this exact same problem with the same truck and same manual track. I ended up just welding the track in place, which works fine for now, but I would eventually like a working seat track again. I just can't justify spending 350 bucks at the dealer on a seat track.

Sent you email and PM previosly.

If you only have a drivers side, that is fine. (I need the drivers side more than the passenger anyway.)

Please let me know ASAP.

Thanks

Rob

After I got the seat out, I realized if I disconnected the cable, then hit the trigger in the track, the seat would then lock, it just loses the memory function. (no biggie, I can move my own freaking seat!)

oooh, you had a power track? You know that plastic white piece with the metal tab? Yeah, I found that thing under my seat in about 8 pieces, haha. I thought if I just brought the shrapnel down to the dealer I could find that part...but no dice. So yeah, without it, the seat just sliiiides nice n free.

65$ shipped for the seat tracks. I won't be back for a few days so if you want to drop me the $ when I get bakc that will be fine.

Awesome! Now this is an extra one you have in addition to the one you're selling to HI85WH1 right? I don't wanna swoop in or anything.

Do you do PayPal?

The manual track has the same device.

Manual track also has a cable that actuates it, which I disconnected on my manual seats, before I installed the power unit.

You can stop the seat by sliding it all the way forward, and sliding a really long screwdriver (or a short prybar into the track, and popping the mechanism back into place so the seat locks...

I'm back and have 2 drivers side tracks ready to go. My paypal is screwed up thanks to an overseas shipment(I'll never do it again) so I have to take money order or you may pick it up if local till I get it worked out. Let me know. I'm cleaning out the shop this week to make room for the next job.
