painting interior question

I have a 95 chevy and I have seen a lot of you guys with your dashes and interior pieces painted and I just wanted to know what the step process invovled and materials used to get it smooth and the paint to stick.

Another concern is the door panels. As you know they are a little soft and they flex when you touch them. I am afraid that the clear will crack because of the flex. Has anyone had this problem and if so what did you do to fix it? Any input would be great!

On your dash, get everything pulled out then start with like a 40 grit sandpaper and work your way through the grain to a 180 until the grain is all the way smooth.(40>80>120>180) Then wet sand with about 400 grit> epoxy primer then wet sand again, then paint5717
