1999 Black Dick Cepek Lifted Tahoe **SOLD**

Well I think the time has finally come for me to sell the Tahoe. I am selling the Tahoe so that I can buy a cheaper daily driver and pay off some debt. I have invested a ton of money into this ride (close to 21K with the cost of the truck included), but I realize that it is time to turn the page and start thinking a little bit more financially.

1999 Chevrolet Tahoe LT. Has tan leather interior (very good condition) with all power options and rear air. It has 93K miles on her (all synthetic fluids…oil…diffs). The truck gets lots of looks and is a blast to drive around, but I am just ready for a change. With the 35’s and 4.88 gears the truck has a good amount of pickup and gets around 11.5-12mpg around town. I haven’t really driven it all tha tmuch on the highway since I got the gears and Mud Grapplers but I think it gets like 14-15mpg on the highway. I drive the vehicle very easy, and it has only been in the mud 2x, both of which were more or less just dirt roads. The truck has not been abused and has been very well taken care of.

The list of mods done are as follows:
6.5" Dick Cepek Suspension lift
8" Rear Skyjacker Leaf Springs
1 Ton Rough Country Torsion Bars
35x14.50 Nitto Mud Grapplers (75% tread)
15x10 Ultra 51 Chrome rims
Wait4Me PCM, Gibson Headers, Smittybuilt Nerf Bars, 32% side tint and 5% on the back
Billet Insert, Painted Bowtie, Debadged, Clear Headlights, Parking lights, Corner Markers
Blacked out painted taillights, Dual Dynomax Bullet with X-pipe
Yukon 4.88 gears, Yukon Axle Shafts, Detroit True Trac

System:
I have quite a big of money invested in the sound system of this tahoe. It is a very clean, but very loud setup. I have hit 144.0 db on the brand new Termpro meter in DB Drag. This should be more then enough system for any bass head, but is still very clean sounding and very musical. The specs on the system are:

Pioneer Premier 860MP
Q-logic Kick Panels
2 set of 6.5" Crystal component in the front
(1 set in the kick panels and 1 set in the stock location)
2 Crystal Comp CMPx2 15's ported (11.5 cubes overall)
Autotek MX5000 (1200x2 @ 1ohm stereo for subs)
Autotek MX1300 (375x2 @ 4ohm on frontstage)
200 Amp HO alternator, Stinger Cage Fans
Lots of sound deadener and 0 gauge wire
Dual Optima Red Tops
High Output 200 amp alternator

PROBLEMS:
The only problem with the truck is that there is a slight exhaust leak from the headers (should be fixed by tightening the bolts)

Your Tahoe is awesome! It's been one of my favorite's for awhile. If I still had my 98 Silverado that I had before I'd sell it and get your Tahoe. Someone will get a nice ride.

First of all they have no room. They don't run that good at all until the 03 Cobra. My friends had late nineties Trans Ams and Z28's and they could dust me. Not to mention theirs were all bought used and mine was new. I financed $29,000 and theirs were around 20,000. My wife wanted an old body style, around 90-93. But i didn't want someone elses abuse. So we bought a new one. Here is what was wrong with it: fender emblems slightly crooked, small panel that caps over the window was broke, trunk emblem was coming off, emergency brake would slip(especially nice in 5-speed), that later was a recall. I know that doesn't sound like much, but all that was the first month before i made the $605 payment. Kept it 13 months and got $17,000 on trade in. Guy i know has a 2003 cobra, it is friggen awesome. Runs like crazy. But i'm not paying for that one. Look, you have one of the best looking tahoe's on here. If you want to sell it to pay off bills i can relate. I'm always selling guns or something so pay for something else. When i had my truck lifted i had to sell a long range competition rifle. Shop bill was way more than it started out so i sold a $6000 rifle for $3000 so i could get my truck back. But i think if you trade for the mustang you will regret it. Sell the tahoe, pay off the bills, save up and buy another tahoe, make it bigger and better. Mustangs are fun for about a month. They get old quick.

At any rate i think you would be happier with the Z than the Mustang. Not bashing ford but honestly if speed is what you are looking for, the 03 Cobra or Lightning are the only fords to look at. I'm considering a Lightning now. My wife has wanted one since they came out.

I completely understand. The more i researched I realized that a Camaro is what I want to go with. I might get the mustang due to being able to get one cheaper and put more money in the bank for my house tho...just depends on what i find.

Even the z's as far back as mid nineties had as much H.P. as a 2000 GT. Where i'm at you can get a nice, low mileage Z for around $8000.

See, and I would rank a G35 way above any mustang or Z. If you want more speed, supercharge the Hoe. I'm debating a ZZ383 crate motor or just a factory crate motor and supercharger this summer. Both has it's advantages and disadvantages. If you sell it and get a car, do me a favor. PM me in 3 months and tell me how you like it.

I had a 99 Cobra and it was nothing but trouble. The 03' was much better but the seat/pedal/shifter reach was very screwed up. I had a 2000 Lightning and wish I had never sold it. I beat the hell out of it at the track and it never broke....but a standard cab gets old after a while.

I went exactly the other way. Had a modded 94 Z and sold it to buy a Tahoe. Now I want my stock Hoe to look like yours! Beautiful truck man! I do miss the Z just for the quickness, but I dont think I could part with my Tahoe. Good luck man!

If i were u, id be looking at 98+ WS6 trans ams... theyre bad ass looking, and better looking than camaro's in my opinion. I think theyre allittle faster to because of the funtioning ram air. I gotta a 2000 WS6 6-speed and i love it, runs 12's and i still get 25mpg:justin:

I also agree you will regret this move. I had a pretty 96 crew cab set up like this lookin sick and I will always regret it.
BUUTTT,,, Money Talks and BS Walks. Sell it. You can always come up agin some times gettin there is all the fun. I got rid of everything and then some to build my first house, and drove around a s#@t box, now im on my third hous and could by as many as I want.

:word: about the cobra thing, a friend of mine at college has a 97 cobra with like 27k miles and he raced another friend in a 94 6 speed camaro with 140k miles both stock. It was a really close race but the camaro just barely won. Oh, the camaro had two passengers and the cobra had one. My friend with the cobra was so pissed! :LOL:

Before I drive 4.5 hours to look at a vehicle, I would be prepared to pay asking price unless it just turns out to be junk. I know you want rid of it but I wouldn't budge on the price. I thought it was worth it BEFORE I checked out your autotrader ad and saw all the rest you had done to it. Sit tight, somebody wants it bad enough. Trust me.
