Has anybody ever worked with or used Katskinz for their interior? I hear it's supposed to be better than traditional leather...any comments?

I hear it's supposed to be better than traditional leather...any comments? Loki 08-14-2001, 02:20 AM My wife knows some people that are in her car club that have catskin seats, and they are really nice quality seats. She now wants them, and i don't have the money...I personaly don't like leather, it seems like it would be too much for me to handle. Don't like the feel, but as for catskins, I hear that they are really nice Mark 08-14-2001, 02:31 AM from my understanding though, these KAtskinz are supposed to take the hassles of owning leather away. They are easier to upkeep and clean and they come in quite a few colors. Loki 08-14-2001, 02:36 AM that is what i have heard, there is a shop in town that does it, but i can't think of the name...i will talk to my wife tommorrow and ask her where it is, do you want a quote, or are you just getting opinions, because, if you are looking for good prices for truck seats, it may be a bit hard to find a price that you will be comfortable with. Mark 08-14-2001, 02:42 AM no, I actually have a set of leather seats, I was just wondering if it would be better to just sell those and get some wrapped in Katskinz instead, since I have a 4x4 an all. 454ss 08-14-2001, 06:18 AM This is not a real good picture of them, but I have the katskins in my 90 for a little over a year, I did not do the install, but I can tell you, they look good, and are easy to take care of. Funk 08-14-2001, 12:07 PM Katzskin uses actually real leather.. gm has never used real leather, the seats can barely be called leather, all they use is leather fibers grafted with vinyl and other parts. Lifted94Blazer 08-18-2002, 11:56 AM OLD THREAD but Matty how much did those things cost and where did you get them? Also, any signs of wear after another year of use? Still fitting good? My mom watched TRUCKS! this morning and said she wouldn't mind buying me a set of these things.(I didn't even have to ask :rocking: ) Funk 08-18-2002, 01:00 PM  me and my dad watched that same episode this morning.. I'm taking mine down to a shop in tn to get mine does the first of next month. just my front buckets since the center seat is coming out and the back is fine with me since it'll prolly be coming out for a full sub install anyways URBAN COWBOY 08-18-2002, 05:33 PM My mom watched TRUCKS! this morning and said she wouldn't mind buying me a set of these things.(I didn't even have to ask :rocking: ) [/B] That's so cool man! :head: Your mother watches "Trucks" and said she would buy you a set of those awesome covers!:D I saw that episode today and Stacey made the install look so easy. I liked the two tone design in leather. Myself I just ordered a set of Wet Okole's for my truck. I like the bright two tone colors and the fact that you can just slip them on and slip them off to wash. URBAN COWBOY 454ss 08-18-2002, 07:56 PM They look great no sign of cracking or fading and they still look new. I was able to buy them direct from katskin at dealer cost which was less then $400.00 for the kit which included 2 buckets and the door panels. I'm not sure how much they sell for. I have seen them and they look really nice on. FOracing 08-19-2002, 09:12 PM Glad I saw this post I just went down friday and made my Katzkin two tone purchase Graphite and red :D I have heard all the good things about them....the are based in montebello,Ca I believe I called them and they wouldn't give me a quote....they sent me to there closest authorized dealer....whom I happened to already have done some business with (I tore my dads factory leather and had to replace a panel 325.00) So naturally I was a little scared about the price....for my 2 buckets seats and the door inserts 600.00 installed....not cheap but I didn't think it was to costly for real leather two tone and installed (as wet okole is almost 300 and not necessarily the same quality)....They will be going in on wednesday and I should have some pics posted once I get out of college on Thursday nite unless they get it back to me Wednesday. *edit....#300 post :smokin: EWogo 08-20-2002, 12:12 AM Katzkin makes awesome stuff. The material is really nice and requires almost no upkeep. My interior was done by Stitchcraft and they used Katzkin leather, I am unsure of what suede they used, but the leather is awesome and I have never cleaned it but at every show I go to everyone asks what I use to keep it so clean. :rocking: Evan jdaniels 08-23-2002, 12:03 AM how about front and back seats in an extended. what did you guys pay BIGRED 08-24-2002, 02:00 AM Originally posted by jdaniels how about front and back seats in an extended. what did you guys pay I just finished my drivers seat. Let me tell you this stuff rocks. By far the best quality product I have installed on my truck so far. I went with dark graphite with Red in the middle. The install was very easy. The Katzkins fit perfect the first time. Front and rear seats will run you around $650.00 to $700.00. You can save a ton of money if you do the install. Takes a lot of time, but worth it.:head: :D ibthumpin 08-24-2002, 01:47 PM Originally posted by BIGRED I just finished my drivers seat. Let me tell you this stuff rocks.
