Just wondering if anyone knows who makes this wheel.

Can't tell if it's polished aluminum or chrome plated. I don't want to buy it if it's a cheap knock-off of a Colorado Customs that is going to fall apart. Looks like you have to buy the horn and adapter separately.
I emailed the seller, but haven't heard back.

I think grant has one like that. But colarado customs definitely has one for over 200.
They probably make it, most wheels in that style are polished billet aluminum not chromed aluminum.

It's not a Grant wheel; they don't make anything that bling. It's definitely a copy of a Colorado Customs wheel, the Colorados are crazy expensive and aren't chrome plated. This is probably some Chinese copy of a Colorado.

That's what I am thinking. If it was a Colorado, I'm sure the guy would have stated that in the auction, as that would be a good selling point.
If he doesn't respond I think I will just skip that and buy a Colorado.

Anyone put a wheel like that one in place of a factory air bag wheel?

If they did, they broke the law. You're not supposed to remove an air bag on a vehicle that came factory with one.

Yea but you gotta get caught first!

i've been pulled over several times, my trucks been inspected, and they never once mentioned anything about this.

If it's the truck in your sig it's because it didn't come with an air bag. :read:

If your state doesn't have a state inspection it'll be passed. :read:

I've seen a lot of 96-98 obs trucks with billet steering wheels instead of the factory wheels with the airbags around here. I guess they get their trucks inspected at the same place I get mine. Just a mild overcharge for every failure on your vehicle. Is it against the law if you've "crashed" your truck, had the airbag deploy, and decided not to replace it?

I know the laws, Iam the son of a cop, have a LEO cert and a paralegal degree.
So Iam not worried about some cop saying anything about it that I cant talk my way out of.
I have no rear bumper right now while Iam building my tire carrier, and got pulled over last night.
He didnt like that I got up on the bike path to go around a car at a light. It sure doesnt look like a bike path, but anyway he didnt say anything about my lack of bumper, so I dont think they are going to worry about my steering wheel much.
Plus there are a lot of cops in our Jeep club so it would be alittle two faced of some of them to say anything about it concidering the mods on some of their trucks.
But the issue I was wondering about was the spline pattern and the horn hook up.
Oh and by the way, here in Florida we have no state inspections.

No offense to you, your cop dad, or cop buddies, but usually I've found when it's something not quite legal it's OK for them to do it but absolutely not for anyone else. :D I know this doesn't apply to all of them so please don't bother flaming me.
On to the informational part of this post, yes the splines are the same as the older steering column. The trick is you need a wheel that has a decent amount of dish to it; the airbag wheels are very deep dish and the turn signal lever is angled steeply to compensate for this. If you take a wheel like the Grant 1130 I have on my '94 Suburban and try to put it on a '95-up airbag style column, the billet adapter (if you're using that option) will hit the lip of the plastic cover that surrounds the tilt guts, ignition switch, etc. (though you can carefully dremel/sand/etc. it off) and the turn signal switch will literally touch the rim of the wheel. So you have to get an appropriate wheel and adapter for this newer column; a lot of companies won't advertise this because it's likely illegal for them to offer something that would allow you to run w/o an airbag on a vehicle originally equipped with one.
Anyway I know this one from experience as I tried to swap the wheel from my '94 onto my '96 wrecker I had at the time and it was a no-go. The wheel is too "flat" needed a couple inches of dish. There are wheels and adapters out there, we've all seen them, I just don't know which parts you need specifically.

Oh, I know what you are saying about SOME if not MOST cops.
But you have to remember most cops are not car guys.
They arent going to notice a steering wheel swap.
Down here we have tons of lifted 4x4s and lowered this and that. So we get away with alot of stuff that wouldnt fly in many states.
Thanks for the info. Iam just tired of the same bland old wheel.
Plus I have never been comfortable with something that will explode in my face if I ever got into a wreck.
I worked in a wrecking yard last year for a little while and we would take air bags out and put the cylindrical shaped ones in a old driveshaft and fire them off.
No chit, they would clear a cell phone tower. And go through a couple of car doors from about 20 feet.
