NBS Tahoe with No Center Console ????

Does anyone have pics of a NBS Tahoe with the center console removed? I was thinking of taking it out...I dont really use it for anything and I could be creative and come up with something to go in its place...:think:

Is it just carpet underneath and are there a lot of holes for the console and does it look pretty clean with it removed or does it look like "something is missing?" Thanks! Pics would be greatly appreciated!!

mines not a tahoe but my silverado had the something missing feel when i pulled mine. might not be so bad if you have seat mounted arm rests. mine doesnt. also it should be carpet underneath

I gotta finish my centerconsole so when I pull it out I'll take a pic.
(if I don't forget).

it will make you feel something missing. and there is one hole where the console bolts on. for mine anyways

There is carpet under there, but you need to remove the black bracket that is bolted with the seats, you will also need to tuck the wirind harness under the dash, and get bench seat lower dash panel.

With the console removed the truck seems to be very wide open, personally I like the feeling and being able to walk all the way through to the cargo area, but that was just too much storage space to loose.

I looked at a 02 Hoe today that didnt have a console-just a bench seat that the middle folded down into an armrest. I like a console better. Well.......... if I can only figure out how to put a 6-speed in it I might change my mind!!!

What are you making for your center?

well it will have center speaker, PSP mount, PC, and one 7" monitor for back seat. and switch panel for whatever the stuff I'll be adding in future. ( lights etc)
I cut the OEM one in half and used the top to save me time but it actually took me more to curve in right shape, since it's my first time building center console etc so I'm learning.

I got redo few parts of it and get it done...

Thanks....you dont happen to have a clear shot with your custom one removed do you? I dont mind the console gone but I dont want any holes showing etc...

There will be no holes in the floor of a nbs, just remove the bolts on the bottom and the two screws that go to the dash and it comes out.

it will be just blacket just need to take out, on mine I just has carpet cut out on that part. that's about all it had.

Well, just an update....last weekend I went to remove the console but it seems that there is some kind of metal bracket underneath which is bolted under the seat brackets so I will need to remove those too I guess....didnt have time for all that so I guess I will atempt it this weekend since it's a 3 day weekend and it's going to storm all weekend....what better things to do than work in the tahoe in the garage :cool:

I need to remove the center console from my 03 tahoe...May not have to take the center bracket out--just want to convert for postal delivery. Will probably put a bolster TO SIT ON. HOW LONG does it take and would you list the correct steps ?? Need to be able to move feet to drive from the center... Has the rear ac controls...did you get yours out??
