I Have Two Questions. How Hard Is It Switch The Manuel A/c Controls On A Silverado To The Electronic One On A 05 Silverado? Also How Hard Is It To Relocate Them To The Factory Overhead Console?

There is a lot of wiring above the headliner and a temp sensor in the headliner that you would have to add and you would have to get the BCM reprogrammed at least.

Your best bet would be to get some wiring schematics for your truck and a truck with climate control and then just add the needed parts/wiring.

I friend of mine works at a dealership and he did some research into doing the swap on his truck. He said it was alot of work and money, even with the parts at his cost.

Why Would You Have To Get The Bcm Reprogrammed? Thanks For The Help. How Much Was It Going To Cost Your Friend

Not real sure. I would guess that it would have to be reprogrammed to activate the pins in the harness that are required make everything work:think: ...like I said, not sure on that but it makes sense if you compare this to adding factory fogs...it requires the BCM to be reprogrammed in most cases.

How Much Was It Going To Cost Your Friend

We had this conversation about 2 1/2 - 3 years ago:dunno: All I remember is him telling saying that you can do it...it's just an expensive pain in the ass.

But for relocating the controls to the upper console (in my case) I would have to get the upper console remove the pocket install the unit and extend all the wiring up to it?

That sounds about right to me:D Would all of the controls even fit up there though?

I don't know cause I don't even have that console. I want to either put them up there and put an eq in the place of the ac or put an eq up in that console. I just figure the ac would be easier than all those interconnects. I guess I could just build an over head console.

Not sure on what console you want to use, the long one or the short one:dunno: , but I have the short one and do not think the controls will fit in there unless you take it all apart and do some serious custom work. Everything is possible though...:rocking:

I Have Been Thinking About It And I Dont Think It Would Be That Hard. You Extend The Wires, Remove The Upper Console And Form The Controls Into The Console And Then Remount.
