I just finished tinting my back 3 windows on my ext. cab. There 20% it doesnt look all that dark, I attempted to do the front windows as well but its a little more difficult so im debating on having it done professionally or giving it another shot myself.. also should i bother with a 6" strip on the front windshiled? I know it varys by location and what not but whats a decent price for 20% on the 2 front roll downs and possibly a 6" windshield strip? Because i waisted a whole roll trying to get the fronts right and doing the sides twice once just removing them, Ive spent about 40 bucks so far.(3rolls 24"x6' 20% and an install kit that included spay on app. squegee util.knife low-lint cloth and how to video) It'd be probly another $20 to do the windows myself hoping i dont screw it up.

What does everyone think try it myself or just spend some extra and have the frotn done right. ANd how much should i pay? thanks

the first time i tried my side window i totally screwed it up as well!. did a little reading on the web and it made it much easier to do. i used some thin white posterboard for side window template,
laid the tint out on a flat surface and cut the template out, leaving about 1/4" all the way around.

the biggest thing is making sure the window is clean and dont be afriad to use PLENTY of water+soap mix. when you seperate the tint from the backing sheet, keep spraying it down with the water/soap so it dont restick, or stick to your fingers. with the window and the tint soaked, place the tint on the window and move it around till it lines up pretty good, use a squeege or the end of you finger and push a line across the top. do the same in the middle of the window vertically. then work from the middle line outwards on both sides. work the water out in overlapping lines from top going down.

carefully trim any extra window tint off the edges and trim the rubber piece at the bottom so the window tint dont rub against it(easier to do with door panel off). allow the tint to dry a few days. any small bubbles should go away in a few days once the remaining water evaporates.

imo its better to learn how to do it, then keep having someone do it for you. if you ever have another vehicle, youll be able to that one too :)

I got mine done a few weeks ago. It was $70 for 5% on my front two windows and a 10" strip of 5% on my windshield. He said whenever I get the back done he would charge another $70 to do the back three windows

I ended up doing all of mine myself except the passangerside roll up i just gave up at that point. went and had that one done professionally and he only charged me 20bucks.i had the door pannel off so it made it easier. i asked him out of curiosity how much it would have been to do the whole truck to begin with and he said $100! i deff should have went there in the 1st place to get where im at now i spent $80. When inside loking out you can tell the diff. fromt he pro vs. parts store tint, cheap tint has a blue tint while pro is nice and clear. Ill eventually go back to have him fix the rest of the truck. Overall it was a good learning experience. For anyone thinking about doing it yourself id say save your money and have it done right unless you really dont care and just wanna practice...

I did the fronts on my CC myself, ordered them pre-cut off Ebay

http://stores.ebay.com/Elite-Auto-Tint Highly recommended...mine are very good except for a damn cat hair in the middle of the drivers side window. Mr Tint in W Spfld does decent work also, see you around town!
