it does have a few things that need to be done and thats why i put that in there. i have had people offer me 8000 for the truck but just couldnt come up with it. and Redz Z i would really appreciate it if you would not try and talk people out of buying my truck. you could have sent me a pm or something.

oh yea and for the comment of the i wouldnt pay 3000 for the truck, i have put over 2 grand in just wheels and tires and the tires have maybe 300 miles on them. so please keep your negative comments to yourself. thanks

I guess I was being an ass, and it was probably undeserved.

I have a huge chip on my shoulder though. Why? Because when I was 18, I sold a reliable Nissan truck and bought the baddest looking Chevy I could find- that looked quite similar to this one. It looked amazing. However, it was a HUGE basket case and one of the hardest vehicle lessons I will ever learn in life. Transfer case grenaded shortly after, steering box pulled off of the frame (required a whole new frame section + being boxed in), rear shock mounts were ripped from the frame, the engine only ran on premium, and come to find out the compression was built super high and the engine blew in short time- This is all within about 3-4 months time. Dual tank selector switch broke, wiring issues, it had a hillbilly locked rear end- it was a disease. It took me 5 years to get the truck in order, and in the very end I was rewarded with a second transfer case grenading. Sold that POS for 1,800 when it was easily worth 2-3x that, just to get it out of my sight.rr

That truck caused me serious pain and anguish- I was a basket case. I guess I would just be afraid that someone like me when I was 18 would buy your truck only to learn all of the work that would be necessary to make it a nice truck and get burned in the process...

So, I guess your truck struck a bad chord with me and brought back many ill feelings. You were at least honest and brought up all of the problems up front, which is way more then I can say for that truck's owner. I didn't even mean to write all that- it just spewed out. I must need therapy or something...

Basically, an amateur or beginner should NOT buy your truck unless they have guidance and resources to get it right. Your truck would be best in the hands of an experienced mechanic or under the guidance of one. Noone can argue that.

Here is a free bump for you for a really good looking ride. Makes me miss my 83 I sold a couple years ago. Cant beat that body style at all. Gotta give ya TONS of credit for being up front and honest about what small issuses the truck does have an by not trying to cheat the next owner.

As for Redz Z....Sounds to me like maybe you should have inspected that last truck you spoke of alot better before you bought it....cant say i would come on here blame everyone else for your mistake of not looking it over better and finding out the hard way.

well just save it will prolly still be for sale by the time you save up enough. i have been trying to sell it for about 6 months and i have had so many people say they want it and then cop out. not saying you are one of those people. you could always get a loan for it. sell your ranger and then use that for the down payment on the loan and there you go you got you a big jacked up truck.

well for me its easy. im 6'2" so i just throw my arm over and pump it. its not that hard. and if your shorter you can crawl up on the tire and pump it. thats what my dad did when he took it to fill it up. he is like 5'8-9" somewhere in there.

hey man i had a thought for ya...i realize you dont wanna take a loss on this gorgeous truck and i dont blame ya. I was in this SAME EXACT BOAT about a year and a half ago with my old '96 F350 4x4 with PSD and 6" lift with 37's...but i ran out of time and lost my @$$ big time. Anyway, what i would have done had i had more time was to simply start stripping the extras off of it and reducing the price. Then you can turn and sell all the extras and hell, you might even make money on it. I just know what its like to fight to sell something for a decent price and everyone tries to undercut your price. I know what its like to get excited when the UserCP shows a new reply to your sale thread and only being disappointed/pissed off she its just another "hey man, nice truck, wish I had the money" reply...so I figured I'd offer a friendly suggestion. Good luck with whatever you do and...

there are downs to every car manufacter/model out there. If it had taht serious problems, the issue wasn't with seller or even so much the truck as much as the immature kid who got over excited at the looks and bought a truck without looking it over thoroughly. I have a 2002 Suburban with less than 50k that has "things" that need to be done...probably more serious than his...haha. So serious dude...come on

thanks for the compliments man. we have tried ebay three times and the price was quite a bit higher. two times the reserve wasnt met and the third time a guy took it over the reserve and and then didnt send us 500 within 48 hours and never contacted us, so we got screwed over. i will never try to sell another vehicle on ebay after that happened.

oh hell yea! that is gonna rock man. i'm a HUGE F-body fan. i've had 6 3rd gen F-bodies. my first (a black '82 Trans Am) had a Pontiac 455 my friends and I shoehorned into it backed by a TH-400...that car could raise some he!!

as for the pics, yea, you can't see 'em anymore...you'll have to get him to send you pics...i guess he doesn't have 'em hosted anymore...

well brand new they are only 400 bucks so if i was you to save time and money i would buy a brand new one from harwood. part of it is cut out for the clips to keep it on. if i could go back and change it i would put a actual steel cowl hood on it so i didnt have to take the hood on and off everytime i wanted to work on it.

ehh, i'm gonna get rid of 'em at first chance...but i'm going with 1-ton axles so i'm not gonna waste money with a gear change in these 10-bolts.

although my truck has officially been put on hold. we got a good bit back from taxes but thanks to bills i have VERY little to spend on my truck, so instead i'm getting a daily beater and gonna park my truck and save some gas/mileage on the truck and get hot on it when my VA disability checks start rolling in here in a few months...
