My '06 Silverado has the manual dual A/C & Heater control. Has anyone put in a digital control? If so, where is the inside temp sensor that tells the unit when to kick on/off located in the cab? Again, if so, is it a plug & run setup or is the BCM involved? Appreciate any help.

ME TOO ME TOO! I would like to know since I have seen a few of the digita one pop up on ebay. I would love to just set the temp and not have to worry about it!

its not plug and play. do a search and you will find that lots of people have already looked into it

I know its sound advice to do a search as someone may have already asked. However, in my question, (since I've heard the wiring from 2004 on changed from earlier production of 2003 back) so I'm still wondering if anyone has tried such an install with a newer wiring system since an FSC search doesn't address 2006 or newer.

Me too!! I just picked up a digital controller and I have an '04 with the manual controls. I'm hoping for a close to straight swap but I know this equipment all has special software now. I don't want to end up in my driveway one weekend :sheephump instead getting a cool upgrade.

I heard it take a lot wiring to make it work for Digital A/C Control

It is not an easy swap.

The air box behind the dash is different and has a bunch of little sensors in it that the dash harness plugs into. It will take an airbox and a dash harness to do it. There were something like 90 different dash harnesses in 04 so finding the one that has your exact options plus a digital a/c control will be very hard to do. Besides it will be very expensive.

Hmm, looks like I need to round up some more parts. I'll keep you posted. If this becomes impossible I may have a nice digital control panel for sale...cheap.

Honestly it couldn't be that much work.
You could wire in your own temprature sensors, and probably cannibalize the new unit into your stock one.
I remember when I had a volkswagen, people were really into the climate control units, and to get it to work properly it required a lot of parts.
