Hey guys, just looking for a billet steering wheel. Something that should match a classy yet subtle interior. Probably going for a half wrap that is paintable.

Where are you guys getting them? I was looking at billet accesories direct (bad)

They seem to have a decent price of 299, but I was wondering if there are better options out there?

Thanks!

Billet specialties, Budnick and believe it or not Lecarra has some newer street rod models that are real nice.

What's the standard size for a billet wheel for our trucks? I don't want it to look out of place!

Are most places best to buy direct from? Thanks!

BAD is a great company to start with, they have alot of good options. Colorado customs, billet specialties, budnik are all good companies. www.godfathercustoms.com is a good place to buy colorado customs from. The standard size is 14".

I just ordered my second steering wheel from B.A.D. They may take a little while to get but they are exceptional!

Really, what wheel did you go with?

I was thinking of these,

Hellfire (just because it's so damn cool...probably won't fit my classy theme of the truck but....it's so damn cool haha)

Retro (might fit the classy old school theme)

Rodder or the mauler....

Oh too many choices.

I got my from bad I really like it. The only bad thing is they take a while mine took 9 weeks to get.

I had ordered the Wraith last time, went into a bagged 87 Astro Van. Looked very good. Just got transfered to a 84 Suburban soon to be bagged and body dropped. I just ordered the Maltese 3 for my full size. Factorymur is right though, it does take them some time to get the steerings wheels made. My first one look about 12 weeks and the second one hasn;t arrived yet buts its only been a few weeks. They custom build every steering wheel when they are ordered. They have exceptional customer service though as it was takeing a while to get my first one and i needed it for a show so they rushed it, overnight shipped it to me, and even gave me a free custom billet tag for the hassle!

I think the rodder or the retro would look good w/ the old school theme! The Mauler would look good, nice and clean! The only thing i'd be afraid of on that hellfire would be catching my finger on one of the points becasue damn if they aren't sharp! Haha!

I got mine from Budnik. I'm very happy with mine. It ended up costing around $ 375 after shipping. Plus on all these steering wheels you will also have to buy the adapter. So it ended up costing over $450 for everything. I like B.A.D.'s designs but I went with the Budnik one to match my wheels. Also the standard size is 15 1/2". Here's a pic of mine. It needed a good polishing in this pic. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y103/sprttrk/shifter.jpg

You guys were right, called bad and they hooked me up. Sure the wait is going to be a little bit but it's nice to have something that will have that much quality/crafsmanship to it.

Well with the sale of my bagged Sonoma I had a little extra cash to actually finish this project for once, I was sick of always having something to be done so I said screw it, to the frame she goes :smokin: Pretty much everything will be changed :thud:

So which steering wheel did you end up ordering from B.A.D. ? (Got any pics?) To the frame you say, huh? Have you thought about switchin' to a shortbed ? Since you got it down to the frame allready......why not cut a bit of it off :hack: and stick a shortbed on it ??

Just saw that Intro is going to start making steering wheels -- No prices on their website, but I'm thinking I might go that route so it'll match my wheels.

Nope I like the long box, I specifically went out looking for one. Ive thought about making it a midsize bed, like inbetween, but I kinda wanted the orginality of having a laid out long box. If I found the time id go midsize, but that's it.

Oh and I went with the bad rodder wheel, I have always like that style, classy and timeless (imo of course) but it will almost fit any theme,
