Over the past few weeks, I've got some of my interior work finished.
-New cloth/vinyl upholstery in the front and back.
-Sound deadener on the entire floor.
-New carpet kit.
-New headliner (in which I completely forgot to snap a pic of). Still have to get some visors.
-Center console built, but not 'finished' yet.
-New CD deck.
I purchased some extra material (the material used for the seat inserts), and will be having the door panels and rear cargo panels covered in that material. Hopefully in a few weeks. I'll also be using deadener on the doors and the entire cargo area. It's coming along I guess...slowly but surely.
I think I'm going to spray the console with texture spray (to match the dash as closely as possible), and will go with a smaller screen up front (5"?) and a bigger screen for the back of the console. It has an enclosure for a 10" downfiring sub, which I also still need to get.
The Blazer (pic from when I bought it on Ebay. Too dirty for me to snap you a pic today! :) )

looks good! Only complaint is that i would have mad the top part lift up for storage room. But i guess you had to account for internal volume though........looks sweet either way!!

The console isn't bolted down - just threw it in there for the pictures. When I had it fitted earlier and bolted in, the spot for the monitor lined up nicely with the head unit.

Not to worry, I didn't take it in a bad way.

Just made an appointment to get the door panels and cargo panels covered with the same material as the inserts. Sticking with the same ribbed pattern too.
I've been dodging the stereo situation. Maybe if someone gets me the 10" Boston G5 sub I've been asking Santa for, I'll be encouraged to go pick up some components and an amp. I still have no idea what I want to do with the 'screen' areas in the front and back. My initial plan was to put monitors there and run a truck-puter. The elements scare me though. Extreme colds and pretty hot in Ohio.
Nice work and upholstery!!
One question: How do you like the Fat Mat?? I think I am going to do my floor as well with some Xmas money.

Honestly? I'm sure there is better. I've heard good things about RAAMat(sp?), dynamat, second skin etc. However, I was by no means looking for competition level sound deadening. I've got true duals with 40 series flowmasters and it was obnoxious in the cab. The FatMat did what I wanted it to do....quiet it down. You can still hear the rumble of the exhaust, but it was a definite improvement. For the $$$, it's hard to beat. It's cheap enough to put 2 layers on in some of the more noisy spots too.
I still haven't done the doors/rear cargo panels, so I'm sure it will be even better once those are done.

Right on, thanks for the input!! That sounds like what I am looking for as well. All I want to do is quiet the in cab noise down a bit, some on the doors too maybe. Thanks again, later

The carpet kit was around $175 from ckresto.com. The seats ran me $650. The $650 included the refoamin of the left front of the drivers seat. Getting in and out of it over the years broke it down to the metal almost.
I thought hard about getting the katzkin leather seat kit, but the whole hot/cold/scalding my ass/freezing my nutz thing scared me. Not sure what I'm going to do with the stock radio area yet.

that fabric on the seats looks pretty similar to stock? is it? I like it. maybe I can just get some buckets that don't match and get them recovered. I really want katzin though.

I'm almost 100% positive it isn't the stock color. I went to the shop, picked the colors I wanted and they sewed them up with the same stock look. Unless by chance I randomly selected the same stock grey that Chevy used....that would be a bit weird. :)

oh well I just thought it looked pretty stock. How much was the quote on your door panels?

$225
This covers the door panels and the cargo panels in the same material as the inserts, with the same ribbed pattern. I think I'll tell them to leave the panels off so I can get the sound deadener laid down while they're out.

I am still just gathering ideas for when I redo my interior. but I am thinking about upgrading to the 95-98 buckets with katzkin on them.
