whats needed for full console swap on 07 crew [Archive]

just got an 07 classic cc but it has the jumper seat in the middle and i would like a full console. cant i just buy the center console out of a truck with one and swap it out for the jumper seat.

anyone know the best place to get the required parts. ive been looking on ebay but the consoles are going for a good chunk of change on there. it seems like you could almost get a new one from the dealership for what they are going for on ebay. i might try calling some salvage yards or even the dealer for what its worth. anyone with the part #'s as well?

Start watching Ebay and check with salvage yards in your area. There are a few online places for used parts. I usually find the parts online and then go to my local yard and 'bargain' by telling them what I can find the parts online.

I would really like to do the same conversion on my '05. Has anyone that has done this conversion got before/after pics? My HD has the floor shifter for the 4-wheel drive, what kind of interference would I be looking at?

What color is your interior? I am looking to do the opposite of you. I have a center console and I have 4 children and need the front seat. My truck is a 04 silverado with tan leather interior. Please let me know.

My truck interior is dark gray..... I'm sure you can find someone to do a swap with. I can see where you need the extra rooom, I don't have any kids (yet).

I guess nobody has run into this. If I ever find a console and do the swap, I'll make you a deal on a folding seat/console :biggrin:.

If you have the floor shifter, you will not be able to put in the waterfall piece that has the two cubbies and power outlets, just the actual console.

I'll have to run by a dealership and look at a truck to see the different pieces that you are talking about. Looking at the picture above, you're saying that the 'front' of the console (with the cubbies) is a seperate unit form the back? I can't remember what my '03 console looked like :think:. I could figure out a way to make it look good... I really want the full console (more storage) and drink holders that aren't in the floor like the folding console.

I think some of the newer consoles are all one piece like the one in the picture, but the old ones had the console and then that waterfall piece.

You are also going to need the shorter dash piece as well. If you don't have it, the console will hit the dash. I replaced mine with the short glovebox piece that I also found on Ebay. I know of someone who cut the facotry piece (it goes from the glovebox the whole way to the short piece under the steering wheel) and made it work, but I found one for $25 on Ebay, that was the right color so I got it before I actually found the console for a good price.

havent checked this thread in a while but thought i could let others know that i stopped by the dealership just to see how much they wanted for the console. it was a few weeks ago but i am pretty sure it was like $980.00 for the piece. as you could imagine i just kinda laughed and said i was just checkin.

I don't have the part number, I just searched "Silverado Dash" on Ebay till I found one. Sorry, I couldn't be more helpful.

If you are near Alabama 07BlackCrew I could get you one out of the truck that I got my extra backseat from. I am going to take the right side if the extra back seat and mount it to the leftside and have basically 4 bucket seats and build a console from the dash to the back wall. PM if you are interested because the truck they had, had the console and the same color interior you have. I didn't want it because I was going to build one. And I will also be taking the middle jump seat out so if anyone is interested in buying it I will make you a sweet deal. Let me know if I can help.
