hi,
i did a quick search on this, but didn't see it covered anywhere else.
i took the rear seat out of my 2005 2500HD Ext. Cab so my dog has somewhere to ride with me when it's cold / raining out. what i've noticed is that there is a lot of road noise in the cab (it sounds like the passenger pop out window is open). i took the truck back into Chevy, and they told me that they REQUIRE the rear seat to be in in order for the pressure baffles to work correctly, and that the noise was caused by one being stuck open. Apparently, the baffles don't operate correctly without the pressure / support of the seat against them? Right now, i have a heavy duty moving pad hung from the 3 "hangers" behind where the seat is. My thought was to cut out a heavy piece of plywood to put underneath the moving pads and press up against the firewall to provide that pressure, and bolt it in place using the seating brackets?
Just one problem, the sound is still there after they "fixed" it.
What do you all think?
Thnx
