How to remove outlet?

The lighter/power outlet in my 99 Tahoe was shorting out and blowing the fuse whenever it is used..the other outlets function perfectly..just the center outlet is dead once I replace the fuse. How do I remove the outlet in order to put in a new one?

Just pop uot the assembly using a screw driver. You have to take out the glove box to do it. Then unscrew the socket from the back.

On mine it was blowing fuses with a custom push in thingy. I got a factory one and it works fine. You might want to try to use one from a different vehicle to see if that is your problem.
