I just had my truck limoed all the way around, had it done over thanksgiving. My 5% in the front now has streaks that go from the top of the window all the way down in a straight line about an inch think all the way across the window on both sides. You can really only see it when there is a light background behind it and you cant tell when looking into the truck. Any ideas why this happening, I just havent had the chance to call the guy that did it to ask him. Should I just take it back and have it redo it, its has a lifetime warranty. :cheer:

Those places always have wrrenties on the tint and not the labor. If it is a reputable business they should help you out since it has only been a couple of months.

there are pads inside that prevent the glass from getting scratched more then likley they are dried out or worn out

More than likely its some kind of trash in the window sweepers. It happens sometimes, crap just gets on the sweepers and you never know it till tint is installed. I always remove the door panels, or the sweepers if they`re seperate, strictly for this reason. They`re cleaned before I ever put them back on so the customer isn`t back in a month with "streaks" on thier windows. Take it back and let the installer look at it, shouldn`t be a problem to R&R it.

Your tint shop should definitly help you out with this. I'd say just give them a call and tell them the situation.

ok ya i appreciate the input...ill call the guy and see what he says...its weird because ive always had tint on my truck and on these front 2 windows and the "streaks" didnt show up till i put on limo...maybe that they are darker is why the "streaks" showed up

Shouldn`t have anything to do with it. Alot of shops will use a cheaper line ( something less scratch resistant) on thier darker films because after about 15%, there`s not a whole lot of color differance between films. Only problem you might ever have from it being darker is that it will eventually fade, possibly quicker, if its a dyed film, because of the excessive dye content used to make it so dark.

If they are perfectly vertical streaks, it has to be something inside (below the weatherstrip) the door rubbing on the film.
