well joe i have a brand new tailgate,never on a truck,same deal as the bed here its is embossed with chevy on it,gm brought the stamping dies there to make it

You say Chevy took the dies to stamp these parts, things like that just don't happen.

Does any aftermarket part make body panels for the GMT800 truck yet? As far as I've seen GM is the only company stamping those parts so far :think:

Maybe this is the company that actually stamps the parts for GM?
I don't see any reason to keep this information a secret if you are interested in selling the parts...

Yes I do. GM supplies replacement parts for 10 years as far as I know. That used to be the standard anyway.

i have answered him many times,i know who he is,just because i wont tell him the company,he has been riding me,sometimes we have reasons for what we do,and as mine says above,i did,but when i joined i did read a conduct code i thought applied to all of us,it wouldnt be any different to ride some one for a proof of purchase and implying its hot if they cant produce one for every truck/parts on here,then keeping on it forever

Dude, relax. All I have done is ask legitimate questions about the parts.
Your lack of answers may very well be casting doubt and be part of the reson you are unable to sell the item here on the board, I'm not sure.

Believe it or not, I was asking those questions to help YOU sell your item as well as maybe protect any members who may be interested in buying the item. I am sure I was not the only person curious about it, but I was the only one to ask you in the thread.

I have bought and sold many many parts over the years and when someone avoids a basic question like 'where was this made' and 'where did this come from' that raises a flag instantly IMO. I am not accusing you of anything, only helping to point out how this information can be perceived :cool:

sorry about miss judging you,my next time to detroit,i'll buy ya a beer. gm brought the dies down,company made 5 beds,gm rep picked 3 randomly and took them back for inspection,i got 1 of the 2 left behind for cost,and yes they got the contract

I'd like to see pics if it's an 8' bed....and I've known they've been making aftermarket pickup beds for a long time now. The last one I saw come through undamaged was a stepside bed for a '80 K10, which bolted together so they shipped easily. But the problem usually is(and the reason a lot of people don't even know they exist) a majority of bodyparts suppliers won't recommend/sell them because they get beat to hell shipping truck freight and end up needing a ton more body work.

The composite tailgates that were stamped "CHEVROLET" were an option that you could order, that had a complete composite box. I would like to find one of those.
