Isn't only the Crown Vic called an Interceptor? You are the first person I have heard about trying to convert a truck to "police-specs"...

I thought they used f250's? Or is that just maryland, I'm guessing interceptor is just a police car that's not normal?

Interceptors (all police vehicles for that matter) vary from state to state or even city to city. The Ford Interceptor (Crown Vic) has been the most common over the more recent years, but many also use '99+ Impalas or the new Dodge Chargers as police cars as well. Just about anything can have lights thrown on it though... 'Vettes, Camaros, Mustangs, etc. Same goes for the trucks.
As far as interior appointments are concerned, GM's police package is typically vinyl upholstery with rubber floormats. Sorry that I don't have a part number.
By the way, I'm not sure how it is where you're at 2HeavyChevy, but there's a definitive line in most places that you can't cross without running a high risk of being charged with impersonating a police officer. Sounds like you might be darn close to it. :read:

Second that, a freind of mine had a purple siren type light and bright white flashers in the sides of his headlights on his expidition (don't ask for show I don't know). One night he got pulled over and was given a fine (which was reduced after he showed removal of the flashers and siren light. This was in florida NW. they are getting sneeky with those lights too , that dodge charger was all gray and the lights where hidden in the grill very well, and had led lights on the visors, never saw it until they had it directing traffic on an accident. Sorry back to your search I would ask chevy about there BASE package, in my '00 chevy it had rubber/type floors and vinyl seats. loved it easy to wash and looked better then cloth to me.

1st post, getting a 2002 GMC monday.
As a owner of a 1994 Caprice 9C1, I can say that some are better equipped than others. Mine has full carpet, power drivers seat, etc. It helps that mine was the chiefs car :bling:

COOL!, i had an 88 caprice that was a ghost car for the lab city police. nice vinyl seats and full carpeting. the only thing was that they had drilled holes in some parts of the dash to put equipment. but sweet interior for a police car.

An "interceptor" is a police Crown Vic. Why would you want to make your Chevy truck look like a Ford car or even look like a police vehicle period? Is this truck your daily driver?
im not going to get pulled for impersonating.
Yea, good luck with that!

You want to be "stealth" by making it look like a police vehicle? I would think that this would have the opposite effect and make you stand out. If you are going for a "stealth" appearance I would go for a black out look not a cop look. All you are going to accomplish with your efforts is unwanted attention from the police and criminals.
There are a$$hats out there that scope out law enforcement officers, vehicles, activities, homes, and families and plot to harm them. It does not matter that you don't have POLICE wrote on the side of your truck, you are giving the average person or criminal the impression that you are a law enforcement officer. By doing this you are possibly placing yourself in harms way unnecessarily. Read the news, look at how often police are shot at in marked police cars while just driving down the street. What you are doing is just not smart. And adding strobes to a vehicle that you have went out of your way to made look like a police vehicle is even worse of an idea. There is no reason for you to waste your money on strobes, they serve you no real purpose. I really hope you’re not intending on impersonating an officer, all it will result in is getting shot or arrested. Think about what you are doing!!!

if you do that i would paint the bumper all black. The chrome and gray plastics dont do much for it.
