View Full Version : Comp & Temp in Overhead Console?
I have a '97 extended cab with an overhead console and want to replace the blank panel at the front with a temp/compass readout. Was this ever an option? Does anyone know if GM ever installed a unit in any vehicle that will pop right in the existing console without modification. I found some information on the overhead console from a Chevy Astrovan. The temp/compass module looks the same, but I'm sure if it would fit I'd have read about it on this forum. I've read all the threads on the rearview mirror, auto-dim with comp and temp, and will make that swap if I can't find a unit to fit the console. Thanks, any help will be appreciated.
Anybody? I know GM put this in other vehicles in the overhead console (S10 type) but what I want to know is if the unit will fit in my console without mod. I can figure out the wiring and such.
Thanks,

This is the only other panel that I know of that will fit other than the Tahoe/Suburbans with rear a/c...just another option...

s-10 consoles are different, fullsize consoles either have a blank plate or ac controls.
Thanks for the input, it's greatly appreciated.
