Has anyone tinted their entire windshield 35%? I want to get my entire windshield tinted but I don't know if I should do 35% or just 50%. I don't want it to be hard to see out of at night but I want it to knock out the glare off of the dash and keep out a lot of the sun during the day. Thanks in advance.

Also, pics would be great if anybody has any.

I've never done it but a friend of mine has it done on his truck. I was going to... but I don't want a reason to get pulled over. It's only window tint sure... but if you ever have something else going on that may not be perfectly legal you just got yourself busted over some tint.

His is 35% but I wouldn't go any darker than 50%. I planned to do the W/S 50% and then also put a 20% strip at the top so the windshield doesn't appear to be tinted.

Good luck.

I won't do the entire windshield until I get a permit for it. My eyes are really sensitive to light so I am going to get a permit from my eye doctor so that I can't get a ticket for it. I had 5% on the sides and the back and got pulled over for that and had to take it off. Now it is really hard for me to see if the sun is really bright. I just want something that will help with blocking out the light. I have 35% on my front windows now and it doesn't seem that dark on the sides but I was wondering what it would be like on the windshield.

I have 50% with a 5% stip across the top. You probably wouldnt notice unless I told you it was tinted. I live in the country and drive down some dark roads so 35% would be too dark for me. I did upgrade to HID's in my lows and fogs so 35% might be doable now.

I was thinking it would be too dark but I wanted some input from somebody that had it. Thanks alot man.

The first 35% I ever saw in person looked nice. I was checking it out when the guy walked up. He said if he had to do it over again he would get 50%. Thats pretty much what made up my mind. I love it at nice for glare. Especially when its raining.

I've got 35 on the shield with the side windows at 7 and the rear is 1. It's awesome. If I were you I'd go 35...50 is almost nothing.

Keeps glare down, keeps prying eyes out, I'm hard to see and nobody has said anything yet. I'm so used to it tinted that I squint when I'm riding fishbowl.

Does it make it hard to see out of at night? I am in the woods a lot at night during hunting season so I need to be able to see really well out of it but I need it to knock out the glare too.

The only time its honestly tough is when its pouring down rain. And I mean pouring. If it's nighttime then it really isnt much different looking through the 35%. I can handle it and I have bad night eyes.

Also, it wont be super dark if your side windows and rear arent super dark. Lots of people havent even noticed mine and the ones that do almost always ask, "Is your entire windshield tinted? Or are your side windows just dark as hell?"

Here is a picture when I had the truck wrapped in 1% and the shield was 35%. So take the shield below and lighten it a tad.

20% makes it nice and dark on the inside, no one can see in, keeps the truck cool while in the sun. Easy to see out of at night with HID's.

I have a 2005 Silverado Ext. cab.. i had all the windows done in limo (5%) and the windshield done in 50%.. it looks awesome..dark enough to help and look good (keeps nosey ppl form lokin at what i got inside too) but not too darka s to attract attention from the cops. 35 would be too dark for night

Thats what i want 50% to stop glare and add with 5% brow and windows the littl ebit or dark will make it that much harder to see in it.

I know need permit in NY, but I was thikning. that will make the thief to get in and rip everything on your truck out easier since can't see it from outside.....
that's the only thought that prevents me from doing the windshield.
is thata anything lighter than 50% maybe that can use or anyone put on?

If you put 50 percent you might as well not put any tint on your front windshield. If you have good vision driving, then I dont see why you can not see out of 35 at night on backroads. 35 seems dark from looking outside looking in, but 35 from in looking out you cant even tell it. Even my mother has 35 on her car.

What do you do about the inspection sticker when you tint the windsheild?
