I heard that if you upgrade the guages on a 1999 Silverado, the check engine light (or one of the lights on the dash...i think this is the one) will always stay on. Can anyone tell me why this occurs, or if anything can be done about it? Thanks.

its the airbag light and you can take out that bulb or cover it with black tape, something to do with the computer

I have heard about the airbag light and how the 99's and early 00 models come on. I looked on my door sticker and it says built 8/99 so do you think that I will have problems if I switch out guage cluster.

They made the change for the 2000 model year. If yours is a 2000, then you'll be okay. If it's a 99, you'll have the light.

Does anyone have a pic of the escalade cluster at night? All I can seem to find are ones taken during the day :cussing: :kidding:
