I did a search but didn't get the specifics I need...I finally got a caddy bag for the driver side and want to paint it to match the factory steering wheel/steering column charcoal color. What is the best way of doing this? Which paint, methods, prep etc.

Appreciate it.

i did this for my ex's car. i just bought some vinyl/plastic dye from advance and cleaned the part to be painted real good. dye looks factory....that is assuming that you can find it the same color as your interior

You need to get some SEM vinyl spray paint from a paint store. Scrub the bag with red scotchbright pads, then some alcohol to clean off the dust. Then two or three light coats of SEM, waiting 5-10 minutes between coats. It is important to get SEM cause its formulated for rough use. Its ment to be touched and handled afterwards. The same cannot be said for most other vinyl paints/dyes

I have painted enough airbag covers to know how to do it right. Ive done about 60 of them. Real airbags and the fake cosmetic ones.

I agree. That is what I used to make my airbag black and it is very durable. I did not scuf it at all. There is no need with sem on vinyl, only on plastic.

Yeah I bought the SEM brand but it's not quite warm enough to paint it so it's a waiting game now...

What kind of alcohol should I use to clean the cover...rubbing alcohol?
