View Full Version : Is this lt gray or neutral leather?
I'm trying to buy a replacement driver's leather seat cover but I keep getting conflicting color opinions. Is there a code number on my truck that I can look up to be 100% sure? Thanks

Its Pewter, aka light gray.
Medium Neutral is more tan and has an almost escalade look to it.
I have built custom steering wheels for the 95-06 subs, hoes, and silveys for 6 years, so I know my colors. There are three on the standard LS, base, and LT styles: Pewter, Medium Neutral, & Dark Graphite (ebony).
The "code" you are looking for is in the VIN #, and it can also be found sometimes on the drivers door or in the glovebox. You can also find it embossed into the driver's side fuse cover plate. Just pop it off and look for the raised letters in the plastic. Normally it will be a list of all the avalaible colors and thier part numbers for the colors.
Thanks for the info cruizerman! :)
cruizerman, take a look at this pic from the seller. To my eye it almost looks like my seats match the neutral covers. What do you think?

I had the same problem with mine. It's really hard to tell from a picture, but your RPO codes should solve it. Your seats look a lot like mine, and mine are neutral.

6 years doing computer color matching with expensive color systems tells me that he still has Gray/Pewter seats. The RPO codes in his glovebox will tell us the truth.
And the Burgandy, blue, and medium beige colors were very rarely ordered on most 97-99's, thats why i don't count them as the true consistant colors.

Good luck with the GREY replacement.

The tan is called neutral and the light gray is pewter. I buy these all the time to fix leather seats. I have found the GM covers are far better than the aftermarket. If you do get an after market make sure it is actually leather and not pleather.
