Does anyone know if they make a sun visor that has the pull-outs on it? If so, do you what vehicle etc they came off of so that I can search for some? Preferably something that will fit the '01. Thanks

What do you mean by pullouts?

Some visors have plastic inserts inside of them that slide out to give you more coverage. My company Astro van had them, they are pieces of plastic about 3.5 inches wide and 6-8 inches long that slip inside the fabric portion of the visor.

What you want are Tahoe/Suburban visors from 2000-03 They have 2 visors on each side, lighted mirros, plus the pullout and they will bolt directly into 99-06 trucks. You will have to wire up the lighted mirrors, but that's all.

My 99 tahoe has them as well, and they're factory. lighted vanity mirrors and extensions on both driver and passenger sides.

JP Customs sells them (for way too much - junkyard is the way to go), but he says that there is a plug to fill the old mounting hole. Will the ones from the 2000-2003 tahoe/suburban install using the same holes in the 1999 and 2000 trucks?

My NNBS '07 doesn't have them either. Kinda suprised me but I guess older Chevy's didn't either. I can't remember the last vehicle I owned that didn't have them. Even my old '95 S-10 had the pull out visors and a small visor behind that in case the sun was in the corner you could totally block it out - and the pull outs were cut in such a way that if you folded them down in the front and pulled them toward the center they fit around the rear view mirror.

Was wondering the same thing this week on where I could get some to fit in there.

Dunnou about non custom ones as the stock ones are recessed into the headliner somewhat and any larger they wouldn't fold up.

I did this swap on my '01 Silverado. I used the visors off of a 2000 Tahoe. These had the slide out visor extensions, covered lighted vanity mirrors, and an additional supplementary visor when your primary visor is covering the driver/passenger window. You need to make sure that you get the clips that go with the longer mirrors, as they aren't the same as the shorter mirrors. I undid the headliner up near the front just enough to look under it. I had to take off the side windsheild trim pieces and the overhead console. The factory has already cut a place in the metal above the headliner for both the regular sunvisor clips and for the longer sunvisor clips. Now comes the tough part, you have to cut out a hole in the headliner for the clips to go. Just measure carefully and take your time. There is a small amount of room for slop, but not much. At the same time, I ran a lead from my overhead console's reading lights to power each of the mirrors on the visors. You also need to run a ground to each. Everything goes up smoothly, but I still have a hole where the orginal clips mounted. It doesn't show with the visors are in the normal position, but I have been looking around for something to put in there to give it a finished look. Good luck.

You know, my 99 and 01 Tahoes had them. I just realized b/c of this thread that my 07 Escalade doesn't have them. Go figure!

Thanks for the post. Did you get yours from a wrecker or from GM? Thanks,

I got my visors from a salvage yard. Bought other things so I am not sure what the exact cost was. Probably around $30 for the pair. I had to remove them myself.

i want to say i paid the same for mine. they are quite dirty, but im sure you can clean them up as long as you dont get a ripped set. i never used the set i got because i cant find a way to mount them in my obs. they are a bit different. if you want them let me know. btw, i dont have the clips for them. just the visors
