bed overhead light problem

I have a 98 obs GMC ext. cab. The bed dome light will only go on if the dome button is out and the drivers door is open. Is there any way to wire it up so it goes on no matter what when I push the button even going down the road. I know the nbs chevy can do that but I want to do that too.

My 95 works like you say yours does, too. I think putting a constant hot wire to to switch would work. I might try it if I get the time.

check your switch, the one you push on the dash, I'm betting a wire came loose.
IF you're gonna do a little rewiring, I've wired my brakelights to go off without stepping on them, and wired them to go totally off if I wanna drive down a secluded path.
the brake light on switch is for tailgaters
anyway check your switch, or maybe that switch has a fuse, we know the door one works so its probably the switch, its a plastic pos..what do u want
