Temp/Compass display dim

I've noticed that at night the display on the temp/compass is dim compared to the radio and dash display. What could cause that?

I added the temp/compass after purchase, but it's a factory mirror with the passenger airbag indicator (which is also dim).

Any ideas?

not that I'm aware of...the mirror has 2 light sensors on it 1 on the front (facing widshield) and 1 on the back (facing pass compartment)...the front one is used for day/night differentation and front light enviroment, front and rear light sensor inputs are compared to enable auto dim....
