Hey,

First off! this isnt about swapping to the newer style dash!theres tons of posts about that...im looking for ideas on mods for the older dashs...)

Ive got the 1992 nasty looking digital controls for heating and ac controls. Im trying to plan out a decent interior and no matter what i think of the nasty button heater display screen, and the stupid bezel around it, always ruin whatever im thinking of! lol

what have some of you guys done to the heating controls? I mean other than changing to the newer interior style...)
If i had some serious cash to spend id put in a HMI touchscreen display and hook up a PLC or something to it, and fit the HMI screen into the old hole where the radio and HVAC controls were...then build up some custom graphics and controls for the HMI!...
to bad industrial automation equipment is so pricey...:(

BTW i live up north where taking out heating controls and ac is unthinkable...

Ian.

I would be glad that yours still works. LOL. replaced mine in my 92 rcsb once due to screen burnt out(expensive).

hmm no ideas?
no pictures of what anyone else has done?

Oh and the wiring harness at the back did fry a while back...when my dad had the truck b4 i bought it off of him...
after lots of trouble and wondering what the hell it was we found the melted plastic piece/connector and replaced it.
