Since the welder is gone and I know I wont recoup enough to get a new one, I'm gonna attempt to trade this bed for a 'new' one.
The bed is an 88-98 OBS fleetside bed. The bed has a floormat (Checkerpro Bedrug) and is cut to accomodate an Outlaw Motorsports 8" frame notch. The rug just needs a vacuuming as far as I can tell. The gas door is shaved, and has a relocated housing inside the bed. All you would need to do is a simply mod of your current filler neck, or I coudl just trade you mine with it.
The stake pockets are shaved. They need a pass of MetalGlaze and they are done. There are 2 small holes, less than a dime size, that need filling on the bedrails. I just didnt get to them.
The taillights are shaved with Custom Classic fillers. Fully welded, bodyworked, but they do need a little more to be completely done. They ARE completely straight, but the body line area on the fillers needs touching to be done completely.
To compliment that is a welded in Custom Classic rollpan. There is some minor welding on the seams where the pan meets the bedsides, on the bottom, that remain, and a couple tacks are needed up top. Again, I just didnt get to them. I sprayed the area behind where I welded with bedliner in a can, to prevent rusting as well. Has a center license box, with light, and 4 LEDs to use for taillights. They are very bright, very new, they are hooked up, just need to jump the connections to your stock wiring.
What I'm looking for is an 88-98 OBS fleetside bed (or step side possibly...BIG possibly) that is in pretty good shape and I dont care what color it is/was. A couple little dings or scratches dont scare me, lol. As long as the bedfloor looks half decent, there is not rust, and the bedrails arent screwed. The original taillights are needed, but I have my original connections for taillights. I believe they are still in good shape.
The tailgate is not included nor is the tonneau cover, unless I trade for a stepside bed, merely b/c you'll need my fleet gate to match and vice versa.
Considering all the work that has been done so far, I dont see a problem asking for a straight up trade. Minimal work is needed to finish the bed.
I'd be willing to drive a bit, but not a huge distance. I understand technically I could swap these in a parking lot, as long as we have jack stands and tools, lol. So that is an option. I'd say no more than 1.5 hours to meet you, 2 hours tops. I just dont have the oomph to finish her, so I want to go back to a bolt in pan, blacked out tails, and such.
