My new truck is a 93 rcsb Silverado with a white exterior and a blue interior. I have been on planning on painting the truck orange, similar to the sunset orange metallic GM made for a few years. I love that color orange just as much as my dark blue that I have on my 95, my question is will it look funny to have an orange exterior with a blue interior? I have had thoughts of painting everything in the interior orange, but that is a lot of stuff to paint, and there would still be blue in the interior, carpet seats, seatbelts... Anyone seen this color combo? Would it be really gross? Let me know what you guys think.

IMO the blue interior with an orange paint job would look half-assed, I'd either change the interior or pick a color that goes better with the blue. I haven't seen anything like it, but I know that the only reason my blue interior looks halfway decent is because of my blue truck.
Nice truck, btw. Do you drive it in winter?

That is what I was thinking too, I was just curious to see what others thought. Well I guess I'll have to find some new seats and order up a new piece of carpet and go that route. I'm going to paint everything on the interior the color I paint the exterior.
Thanks for the compliment on the blue one, thats my baby. I drove it all year round until last year when I moved to Oregon for 9 months out of the year for school. The blue one is in storage right now waiting to see sunshine next summer, in the meantime I'll be driving my white truck for the week I'm home at Thanksgiving and the month in December for Christmas.
edit-the blue truck has a blue interior too so it goes together perfectly:D
No, blue interior su(ks with alot of exterior colors......the orange will clash. I hate the blue interior in my truck. :(

Orange+Blue=:nono: :badidea:
You can always dye your plastic to change the color instead of smoothing and painting it. I just did this to some of my interior then I bought some new ACC carpet and leather bucket seats and dyed them also. You would want to go with a neutral color with the interior. Maybe a grey or light tan.

Hell no! My white '96 X-cab.:aniteef:

If anything I would go gray like you said. That would probably go best with orange. Here is the truck.

Ya, deep down inside I knew it would look bad, I was just trying to convince my self otherwise because I like the orange color so much. I'll see about finding a new interior.

What about a black or charcoal interior with the orange, that'd look good. You could do both and have some 'strategic' two tone designs on the door panels n dash. If done right it would be sweet.

Yeah the charcoal or black would be ok with the orange too. Maybe dye you dash and trim and do the center section in orange and maybe some other misc pieces. Here is my black and charcoal interior. (Still working on it)

I went home for the Thanksgiving weekend so I snapped some better/current pictures of the truck if anyone is interested. Please excuse the dirt, it is a little dirty on both the inside and out, but at Christmas time it will get the full detail like it deserves!

no it definatly will not match, go black, or something else. actually until my tahoe all my trucks, a pathfinder and bravada, were blue on blue. although a crappy color to match, it is better than red, my thunderbird is, and it is hideous!
orange will be sweet though, oh and P.S. your blue truck is amazing, one of my favorites, if not the favorite lowered one here. not to whore up your thread, kinda late now lol, but what are the specs, got any pics?

Thanks alpha, I appreciate it. Here is the link (http://s241.photobucket.com/albums/ff32/lowz71/?start=all) to my photobucket. Feel free to troll around there. Truck is a 95 4x4 Sierra lowered 3/5, shaved pretty much everything, tint (my favorite part of the truck), 22" Dub Bully's which I have no pictures of because I never got around to taking any other the summer.. there is much more. Any questions don't hesitate to ask. As for thread whoring, don't worry about it because its my thread:D As for the interior color combination, like I said all along I knew it wouldn't be a good combination but I was just hoping someone would post up a picture of something that has worked for them. No luck so now back to the drawing board for the white truck.
IMO, don't do a complete color change... the truck will always be white. Maybe a two tone or something (silver? grey?) however, that interior is in really nice shape, you should have no problem selling off that blue stuff.

When did the hurricanes start wearing blue?
I don't think you can keep the blue interior, unless you somehow tie they blue into your paint scheme, if you did that and some of the interior orange, you might be able to make it work. Good Luck. Oh yeah, are those 17s from an escalade you have on there now?

I thought I liked my blue interior, but I have already started painting it black. So far this is all I have done, but this week I will finish painting the whole interior.

It will look good with the black seat I'm about to get.
