I have a 99 2 dr 2wd tahoe that I am redoing the interior in. To remove the back plastic pieces I need to remove the rear seat belts from the roof/ headliner. I am also redoing the headliner. The question.... How do I get the Torx head bolts out of the top of the seat belt. There is hardly enough room for the Torx T50 socket between the glass and the bolt, much less a ratchet. Did GM put the bolts in before the rear windows went in?? It seems backwards to me, but the interior is halfway out and I cant go any further!!!!:dunno:

Try a allen wrench that is the right size. It might give you more room than a socket and ratchet.

Ive checked lowes, home depot, and cant find a T50 in an allen wrench style. Just the smaller sizes. I will keep looking though! Thanks.

Look at an autoparts store.
I know for a fact that Orielly has them, and if they don't I bet they will tell you where you can buy one.
NAPA, Autozone, Sears?
weird...i never had a problem getting myne out.

You don't have to have a T50, just get a hex allen wrench. It will work.

I had a 96 2dr till I sold it for a burb. I had to drop my headliner as well. I used a torx socket and used I believe a 10mm rachet wrench and slid it over torx side and used it to turn out the bolt. Beware or scratchin up the window tint if you have it but it did the trick for me. Hope this helps ya.
